Singing when sad, singing when happy, singing for freedom, Shaneeka Simon was 5 yrs old when she first witnessed domestic violence. The painful memory of her father abusing her mother follows her throughout her life and has become one of many catalysts for her unique musical expression.

Struggles with relationships, thoughts of suicide have contributed to a long journey of self discovery and has brought Shaneeka Simon to her debut album..... The River of Salvation.

Her Debut, is Produced & Co-Written by Glen Scott (Craig David, Shawn Mendes, Beverley Knight, Eric Bibb, Backstreet Boys, Ron Sexsmith et al) and is steeped in the traditions of Blues, Soul, Roots with strong pop crossover appeal.

With a long list of backing vocal sessions & tours behind her with the likes of Boney M, Will Todd, James Morrison, Casey Abrams, Sting, Annie Lennox, Ricardo Arjona, Engelbert Humperdinck, Big Daddy Wilson and Will Young to name a few, Shaneeka has featured heavily on previous albums with 2 x grammy nominee blues troubadour Eric Bibb.

From the heavily radio-rotated song Born of a Woman , once again Eric and Shaneeka share the narrative on her new Single “ Underground Railroad”.

“The Underground Railroad is historically associated with the escape from Slavery. Having experienced what it’s like to feel trapped and without the resources to forge my own clandestine road makes this song all about my continued journey and the journey of many others like me..”

A Mother of four “Beautiful Fruit” (as she puts it) trying to elevate has created a focus and determination in Shaneeka to live out her dream and desire of singing in front of audiences around the world.

Whether it’s sharing painful stories of broken relationships or hollering songs of hope and freedom ,she has never been more prepared or ready to embrace the future.
